Raise your standards, stop goal setting

Something I read last week really resonated with me and it was this:

Instead of setting goals, start setting standards.

Goals have endpoints – standards are a way of life.

You likely don’t have a goal of brushing your teeth every day. It’s your standard of self-care.

Instead of “I want to lose weight” say “I prioritize resistance training”

Pay attention to the phrases yourself and if you begin to resist that phrase, perhaps look at shifting your standards to become the person you want to become.
