A client’s story – get your tissue box out, moms.

Yesterday, I was at a BW NICE meeting where Frankie from Light To Earth Sanctuary gave a presentation about her organization.

She kept talking about encouraging women to stop and rest and think about (and leap towards) their purpose. And so it prompted me to share this today.

My God-given purpose is to help women get into shape. And I want to share a client’s story.

Jamie reminds me that providing a place for women to exercise is so much more meaningful than “just exercise.”

Thank you for taking the time to read the entire statement.

“Her Fitness is not just any ordinary gym, fitness club, or personal training class where you can go to get fit and see great results.

If you come to class and follow the programs, which are not difficult to follow because of the amazing support you receive, you will ABSOLUTELY see those great results! Marie will be sure of it; she not only helps you to hold yourself accountable, but she is an amazing support system for all that comes along in life. That is what makes Her Fitness special and so much more than a gym or fitness class.

It’s an environment of the most supportive women I’ve ever encountered! It’s a place where no matter your body, shape, size, age or fitness level, everyone is welcome and supports each other.

The best part is Her Fitness really does have someone from every group I just mentioned, and because of the way Marie runs her programs, the classes are perfect for a brand new beginner, someone recovering from an injury up to someone at a very experienced fitness level working to challenge herself to be even stronger than she already is.

I joined Her Fitness over 6 years ago at a time when I really needed someone to remind me to focus on me and put myself first; actually, more like “at least put myself somewhere on the list of priorities!”
I had twin boys who were just over 1 yr old with health issues and special needs. They had been born 3 months early, and this mom really needed to work on being healthy and strong, both emotionally and physically. Without that, they could have never grown into the amazing boys they’ve become today.
I had been doing all I could to take care of them and their needs, but this super mom was out of batteries, and I needed someone who would challenge me and hold me accountable to recharge myself. I knew I wouldn’t do it on my own and was so thankful to meet Marie.

I told her what I needed, and she did just that: she challenged me not only to work myself back to strength and better health, but helped me get into the best physical shape of my life.

Seriously, I’m so proud of those results. Look at those abs, I’ve never had abs like that before, and that was after twins and a C-section. But Her Fitness is even more than those results and those abs I’m still so proud of!

It was my Her Fitness work out sisters who were there again a few years later to support me and pick me up during one of the most extremely difficult times of my life.  I was elated to be pregnant again with a sweet little boy, but it turned out he was very, very ill and on top of it, my placenta was cancerous.
We lost our sweet angel, and I honestly do not know how I would have gotten through that time without my Her Fitness family. The support and love they provided me was unconditional and so needed.
I can’t even begin to explain how much it meant to me. I even felt their support so deeply when I was in the hospital unable to see them or get to class.
Once I was finally medically cleared for exercise again, there was honestly not many places I wanted to go or things I wanted to do. But despite those feelings and shutting myself off from most of the world, I was actually excited and looking forward to being back at class.
Although I was very weak, Marie modified the work outs just for me and my abilities. It was the one place I could go to feel unconditionally loved and supported by my Her Fitness family.
There were days where I did not want to get up or go anywhere, but no matter what, I knew Her Fitness was a safe place where I’d be supported and uplifted. And for the 45-minute class, the stress and emotions would just melt away.

Today I’m now 7 months pregnant with our rainbow baby girl, and I love staying fit and healthy with my Her Fitness family. They have seen me through so much and are the most genuine and supportive women I’ve ever met.
Even though work outs are starting to get a little tough with a belly in the way, I know every time I walk through the doors, I will be told I am beautiful, I am tough, my body is amazing. I feel so accomplished after being there and know I am being the best me I can be. Where else can you go and get that type of genuine support?
I can’t wait for my Her Fitness family to meet my healthy baby girl. They have supported me through every part of this journey, and I have no doubt they will support me through the postpartum period so I can redo that photo from the challenge.
The best part is I know I’ll receive just the right advice, encouragement and support to get there, no matter how long it takes. I know Marie will be sure it’s done safely and according to my body’s abilities.
Her Fitness has won best personal trainer 5 years in a row and is such a special place because it’s a family of the most supportive women you could ever imagine, a place where you can go not just for fitness, but for support, encouragement, and so much love.
Every woman deserves a place where she can truly love and see herself as a woman who is strong and wonderfully made, and that is exactly what you’ll find when you walk through those Her Fitness doors.”

I don’t know about you, but it made me tear up!

xoxo to you Jamie
