Don’t compare yourself to yourself

A new client came in a few weeks ago and said, “I used to be able to drop weight like that (and snapped her fingers)! Now, nothing is moving, and I don’t even recognize myself.”

Most of my clients are in their 40’s and older, have kids, parents to take care of, jobs, a home to take care of, and they volunteer, too.

A completely different situation from when they were in their 20’s and only had to be concerned with themselves….when they didn’t have the same stresses, hormone fluctuations, and major responsibilities that they have today.

Teddy Roosevelt said, “Comparison is the thief of joy.” And that goes for comparing yourself to your younger self.

Focus on what you can do today and the action steps that will move you closer to your best self TODAY.

Remember, you are not the same person you were 20 years ago (and that’s probably a good thing).
