Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. We know what's "good for us", we…
She lost and re-gained the same 30#
I recently spoke with a woman who said she finally kept off 30 pounds that she had always lost and re-gained.
I asked her “What was the most important habit you learned that helped you keep the weight off?”
Her answer was “Once I realized I was in control, it all changed.”
She went on to explain that she always thought she was “just the person who lost and re-gained the same weight and I would just be destined to do that my whole life” but once she realized that the choice was hers to make about whether she would eat the chips or eat the apple instead, it made all the difference.
This is all MINDSET!
You have the power to decide for yourself what you will do when faced with a choice.
For many women who are 20 -30 or more pounds overweight, there is emotional or stress eating involved.
A big factor is that they don’t even realize they’ve downed the sleeve of cookies until it’s gone.
How do you handle this?
It begins with recognizing what you are doing.
Once you wake up and notice “wow, I just housed that pie” (and it’s never a big plate of chicken breast!) you start asking yourself questions like:
- Do I feel better now
- Did it solve my problem (stress)
- What could I do instead
- How can I set myself up for success next time
As you continue to be more aware, and you will be, you will notice that you do have a CHOICE and it’s yours to make.
Do you eat the chips or the apple or do you go for a walk or change tasks at hand? Some days, It will still be the junk food, but most times you will choose a better option.
The situations will change and the solution will be different, but once you realize you have options, it’s a game changer!
