Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. We know what's "good for us", we…
How do those gymnasts do it?
Have you been watching any of the qualifications for the Olympics?
“Wow” is all I can say!
There have been some tight races and I love the stories behind the athletes.
There was one mens race (maybe the 800 M) where it was neck & neck. One guy was leading, a second guy kicked into another gear, so the first guy kicks in another gear, second guy found more, then first guy found even more juice and then…I think the second guy had more in him, but they were so close to the finish line, the second guy sort of stopped trying for his next gear…. you could see it, you could see he actually had a little more, but he was in second place and was going to make the team no matter what and he settled for second place.
My bet is on guy number one for the win in the Olympics and not only because he came in first here, but he wants it! His mindset was for the win!
Luckily, we don’t have to work nearly has hard as olympians do to get into great shape!
But we do have to do some work and sometimes the mental game is just as tough.
When the alarm rings and you don’t want to get out of bed, you still must get up and get to the workout.
When it’s been a long day, again, and you don’t want to make dinner, you still have to cook.
When it’s super hot outside and all you’d rather do is lounge inside on the sofa, you still have to walk.
When it’s late, you still have to plan ahead for tomorrow.
Don’t be guy number two and give up when you are almost there.
You have another gear and it gets easier to find and use the more often you do use it so when the urge to not do something comes up, have Number 1 guy’s attitude and go for it instead of squashing it down.
You’ll be amazed how you will change over the course of 3-6 months when you talk yourself INTO something!
