Life gets busy - between kids, parents, work and taking care of the house it's easy to…
You don’t have to do this before you exercise (for women who haven’t been exercising)
I’ve heard so many women give themselves unrealistic rules when it comes to fitness.
Don’t get me wrong, I do like having rules because they make life easier. There’s no question about what to do and when.
For example, one of my rules is “each meal or snack (mini-meal) has to have protein” or when it’s a day that I am suppose to lift, but I really don’t want to my rule is “go for at least 15 minutes and then you can change your mind and leave”
When I put these rules in place, I’m better off.
However, one “rule” I am not a fan of is “I have to lose weight before I exercise or get help from a trainer.”
Some readers realize see this as counter-intuitive, but many women believe that they have to “diet down” first!
No, no, no! You exercise and do resistance training to help you lose excess body fat and build muscle!
if you go on a too low calorie diet you will lose precious muscle!
Remember that muscle is your longevity organ, it’s part of a healthy immune system, having more muscle keeps your metabolism elevated…and you definitely want all of those things!
You do not have to diet before you exercise! Exercising will likely help you eat better naturally.
