Does having 6-pack abs really make you happier?
Actually, I don’t fully know…I’ve never had the 6-pack, but I have my own experiences to fall back on.
I can tell you, that I’ve reached fitness goals, like running a marathon and body composition goals like, 16% body fat, and the answer is sort-of, but not in the way you might think.
I was darn happy and proud when I accomplished those goals because I set out to do something and did it.
However, reaching those goals didn’t majorly change my life.
It felt great, but it didn’t change how I talked to myself and how I viewed myself.
It took a lot more work than running a marathon to do that!
Sure, the stress of fitting into clothes that sat in the back of my closet was gone.
That’s really nice:)
But…I want to let you know that you can be happy at any size.
You don’t have to wait!
In my nearly 30 years of experience, most of them working exclusively with women, I’ve come across a lot of different personalities and, let’s say, issues. If I haven’t experienced it…I’ve worked with someone who has!
For example, I once had a client who eventually quit because she couldn’t stand to look at herself in the studio mirrors. She hated her body and I suspect so much more.
That was someone who could lose a 100# and still not be happy.
She didn’t like herself, let alone love herself.
No matter your size or shape, you are worthy of being loved – by yourself and by others.
If you’re not sure how to do that, look for examples around you. Some women are great at giving love to everyone else, but not themselves. If that’s you, start treating yourself like you treat others.
What’s going to make the difference for you is deciding that you are worth liking..no matter the 6-pack or not. Don’t waste time waiting for the perfect body to like and love yourself…do that now:)
