I Felt Strong

I was scanning Instagram and watching someone I follow, Artemis Scantalides, deadlift some heavy, heavy weight (230#).

At that moment, I did not feel very strong. This woman can move some weight!

But then, when I was wrestling with Audrey…I felt strong.

Okay, you should be at least smiling by now, because Audrey is only 9…but she is a really strong 9 year old, so I impressed myself that I could hold her back!

I guess my point is, is that it doesn’t matter what weight Artemis can lift as long as can play with my daughter without back pain and, at least for now, I can still beat her or hold my own.

…..AND, there’s no reason you can’t be strong enough to play actively with your kids, lift your golf bag into the trunk of your car (that was a big accomplishment of a 70+ year old client of mine), run up and down the stairs 50 times a day with loads of laundry or carry EVERY SINGLE yellow Shop Rite bag into the house in one shot!

But, you’ve got to start training for life. Sitting on your behind and waiting for the perfect time won’t get you stronger or more fit. There will never be a perfect time to take the first step….so just do it now.

I promise you won’t regret getting stronger!

You’ll stand taller.

You’ll look in the mirror and like what you see.

You’ll be in the family photo instead of hiding in the background.

You’ll start moving furniture around the house…okay, you COULD start moving furniture around the house if you WANTED to.

If you’re not sure where to start, just look on YouTube. There’s tons of videos there.
