Do you know the game, Would you rather? You ask a question like would you…
4 Signs You’re Not Working Hard Enough
Here are four signs you should be watching for if you want the most out of your workouts. These signs do not relate to corrective or specialized exercises. These signs are for metabolic training workouts like boot camp.
- Lack of Muscular Burn: If your muscles don’t feel the “burn” you’re not training hard enough. Lactic acid is accumulating causing intense muscular fatigue and the “burn” feeling. Make sure you always maintain proper form and technique – never compromise form for work to failure.
- Lack of Personal Confrontation: As many of you know, I’m a big believer that exercise and getting stronger empowers you to become mentally and emotionally tougher, stronger and confident. Just like in life, if you don’t get out of your comfort zone, push yourself beyond what you think you can do, you will not see changes and results. There should be at least a few points in your workout that you HATE what you are doing and you want to quit (but, of course, you don’t quit!
- No Sounds of Exertion: Yep, even for you, ladies! This is hard work! How can you possibly keep it all in? Grunting, groaning, huffing or puffing should be part of the routine. I love to hear the four letter words fly! Hey, boot campers and clients; I’m giving you permission to actually say them out loud, because I know you are thinking them!
- Not Sweating A Lot: What more needs to be said. If you tell me you “don’t sweat” I just don’t believe you. Work harder. Increase the load or shorten the rest period. Start loving the drip coming off your forehead.
