One habit my successful clients have learned

Check it out…the habit you need in order to meet your health, fitness and fat loss goals is….Show Up.

It’s true…you just have to show up.

I’ve worked with hundreds of women and the ones who have life-long success are those who show up.

They show up when they don’t feel like it.

They show up when it’s raining out (yes, rain is a huge deterrent for some reason.)

They show up when they went to bed a little too late.

They show up when work is hectic.

They show up when they are disappointed in their current results or just plain ol’ disappointed.

See what I’m getting at here?

I’ve worked with some clients for 10 years, 8 years and so on and through it allthey’ve improved their health, fitness, fat loss and happiness and satisfaction…because they simply “showed up.”

Most workout days won’t be your best, but you’ll never have your best workout if you don’t have any workout.

BUT, what if you aren’t involved in a program that you are held accountable for showing up?

That means you have to show up for you, to you, by you.

If you made a deal with yourself to exercise three times a week at 6:00 a.m….then three times a week, you are getting up earlier than normal and doing your exercise, even if no one is watching.

Maybe the thought of this is new to you…it’s so easy to stay in bed or hop on the computer or attend to other people….but YOUR health matters and when one day slips by, and then a second day, and a third day slips by…it’s like starting from scratch.

The momentum to get that routine back in your schedule can feel too great to overcome, but think about the possibilities that showing up for yourself brings:

  • Confidence
  • Self-esteem
  • Joy
  • Pride
  • Health
  • Vitality
  • Energy
  • Creativeness
  • Calm & Peacefulness

All of these positive states of mind, just by showing up!

If you are like many busy moms and working women, you WANT to make exercise a priority and show up for yourself because you know it will make you a better person, but it’s a challenge to do something for yourself, please stop thinking about how you “should” be able to do this on your own!

Simplify it….there is absolutely nothing wrong with using strategies to make exercise (or any other habit you want to engage in) Happen!

For example, one busy mom bought a  5 drawer dresser and put ONLY her workout clothes in it…one drawer for each day Monday through Friday.

She thought it was silly or frivolous, but this strategy WORKED for her……and that’s all that mattered!
